Mesopotamia was an ancient region of southwest Asia between the

Tigris and Euphrates rivers in modern-day Iraq. The area was the home of numerous early civilizations, probably settled before 5000 B.C.E. including Sumer, Akkad, Babylonia, and Assyria.

 

 

 

 

 


 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

These statues were believed to pray for the person who put them there.
